My Late Father Aliuddin Shaikh

My Father, Aliuddin Shaikh was born in India on October 13th, 1938. He passed away in Southern California on March 4th, 2013 (It was Monday in Fajr time and according to the Islamic calendar 22 Raby` al-THaany 1434 A.H.).

Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilahi Rajioon – Truly, to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return. (Holy Quran 2:156)

In his early days, he lived in India – with his parents, two other brothers, late Gulam Husain, and late sister Naseem Shaikh – after completing his primary education, my father’s family migrated to Pakistan. My father was employed in the National Bank Of Pakistan as a loan officer, he got promoted from Grade 1 Officer to Assistant Vice President. He was a respected businessman in the community – due to his punctuality, honesty, and sincerity.

My father was a deeply religious and hard-working person. He had performed Hajj as well as Umra, Masha’Allah (May Allah accept his Hajj & Umra). He was systematic in his daily works and he taught us all the good habits which he himself practiced in his life. Overall, I would say, he was successful in his personal and his professional life – Alhamdullilah.

Aliuddin Shaikh

I can go on and talk about my loving father the whole day but words are not enough. My father, Aliuddin Shaikh passed away on Monday, March 4th, 2013 in the morning. He had cancer and was suffering from it for many years, going through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, blood draws, many doctor appointments, and long traveling at the age of 75. Although He was a fighter and didn’t give up until his body couldn’t take it anymore. I immensely miss him very much. I kindly request you to please make a small dua in your hearts for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy on him. May Allah bless his soul and rest in peace and tranquility in the highest heaven and may his grave be expanded and made into a garden from the gardens of Paradise. Aameen
